The Benefits of Bach Flower Remedies

Flower remedies are a wonderfully gentle way to restore inner harmony and balance our internal energy.  Dr Edward Bach, the creator of the original Bach flower remedies gave up his medical practice in Harley Street in London to follow the plant path such was his belief in the healing potential of these flower remedies.

At the heart of Dr Bach’s philosophy is the notion that everybody has the ability to heal themselves. This should not be taken literally but the idea behind this is that every symptom whether it’s a physical illness, emotional distress or mental anguish is the body giving us a message.  We have become less and less attuned to our bodies as we become more immersed and reliant on technology. The basis of flower remedies is that every living thing has its own energy force.  Bach felt the nature of the energy flowing through humans and flowers flowed in harmony with each other.  Bach believed that the energy vibrations of certain flowers could be used to heal certain human conditions that caused illness and distress. Bach believed it was possible to harness the energy of individual flowers using special techniques that are still used to this day to make flower remedies.

These remedies can then be used to balance and restore harmony in humans where the energy has become blocked, leading to illness and emotional and mental distress.  Whilst some may doubt the effects of these wonderful remedies, it’s perhaps worth taking a few moments to think about how, as we spend less and less time out in nature we seem to be experiencing higher levels of mental ill-health.  As we lose our connection with nature we are more prone to emotional turmoil and anguish.  It’s our very connection to nature that make these gentle unassuming remedies so beneficial.

Each flower essence can have real benefits to people who are experiencing a range of emotional issues from being over-controlling, OCD, feelings of never being good enough, unexplained exhaustion to having trouble trusting their own judgement.  They work on such a subtle level that it’s not uncommon for people to say they don’t think it worked.  However, these remedies should be taken for a few weeks to get any benefit from them.  Flower remedies are safe to be used long term without any ill effect. Quite often, after going over the symptoms and redoing self-test questionnaires with people after they have been taking flower remedies particularly when people say they haven’t felt any benefit, it becomes clear that in fact there has been a shift and they are not struggling with the same issues or things have noticeably improved. If you don’t feel there have been any changes, you may find another flower essence is more appropriate so don’t give up.

True to Bach’s vision flower remedies can be safely used at home without the need for any specialist skills or training. Hopefully, the information you find on these pages can help you on your way and feel more confident in using flower remedies for both yourself and your family.
